My Coumadin clinic nurses are not familiar with Rooibos Tea. I drink several cups a day. I understand that it is naturally decaffeinated; is there any contraindication that I drink that on Coumadin?
I have searched the literature and cannot find any information on the effect that rooibos tea, also known as red bush tea, has on INR levels in those taking Coumadin (warfarin).
It is best to work with your Coumadin Clinic to monitor your INR levels while drinking the tea, and to make sure that you drink a consistent amount daily so that it is not having an effect on your Coumadin.
Thanks for writing.
