I am on Coumadin (warfarin). Why do lists of foods containing Vitamin K list foods cooked with salt and again without salt? What effect does the salt have on Vitamin K?
The salt doesn't have any effect on Vitamin K. It's simply that the food database from the USDA, FoodData Central, reports foods in many different forms: cooked and uncooked as well as with and without salt.
This is so folks can find the nutrition information on not just common foods but also foods in the various ways they are prepared.
Thanks for writing.
