Just was wondering if there is a good substitute for pine nuts as they are so expensive. There are a lot of recipes that I come across that call for them and they look wonderful, but the price is a tad on the high side. Any suggestions?
Slivered almonds work great in place of pine nuts. Sliced almonds can work as well, but they don't quite offer the same crunchy texture that pinenuts do.
Thanks for writing.
