Amy’s Shepherd’s Pie
Amy's Shepherd's Pie
The package states that this is made with organic vegetables, topped with organic mashed potatoes, is a non-dairy and gluten free. You might think that with all of those claims that it wouldn't be very good, but it is. This frozen pot pie gets three forks for being pretty tasty in spite of not having any meat, dairy or gluten. The flavor is sufficiently umami and not overly salty. At first the mashed potatoes seemed a little grainy, but they aren't too bad and the pie filling tastes sort of like a ratatouille with british overtones.
At 160 calories this would make a fine lunch on its own. There's only 4 grams of fat and no saturated fat. Add some Pan Grilled Asparagus and a salad and it would make a pretty good dinner.
3 forks out of five.
